ARCH1142-Workshop2: Draw It!

poster made to conclude workshop 2

This 4-week workshop focused mainly on drawing and rendering techniques and explored how these techniques can represent different aspects in architecture communication. Throughout this workshop, I gained some basic drawing skills such as one point perspective and two point perspective drawing, axonomatric drawing and some other rendering techniques.

In the first week, we were required to draw the plan of the two house exercise from workshop 1. We needed to be careful with choice of thickness of lines and whether dotted lines are appropriate. We were also required to complete rendering of three house which were drawn by first perspective, and that was our take home exercise.

In the second week, we went downstairs red centre to draw some uni buildings using two point perspective.

In the thired week we were required to submit a drawing set of the selected house and testing the different rendering method. The drawing set included floor plans, sections, elevations. My selected building was fisher house by Louis Kahn.

The last technique we learnt was axonomatric drawing. My tutor stated that a good choice of axonomatric is more powerful than a handful of parallel drawing- it reads everything.
